Fire Frog's

Easter Games.

Easter Treasure Hunt.

Due to the heat of an Australian Easter, hiding chocolate eggs is not always the best option. Instead, we came up with the idea of hiding 'Easter Fairy Stones.' These little (or you can get big ones if worried about them being swallowed) glass discs are available in shops as pebbles to put in flower vases. Kids love them, and they can be hidden in places chocolate eggs couldn't be! Like sticky taped under the table, or buried in the sandpit (we put Popsicle's over the ones in the ground to avoid having the garden dug up.) A 'glitter' stone can be hidden for a special prize.

Also, a different colour stone can be assigned to each child, so everybody gets an even share, and the older kids don't nab the obviously hidden stones, but have to look for the harder to find ones. (tape eggs to over head fans - don't turn them on!!! - or to window pains - looks pretty - or place green ones in grass, clear ones in the sink with a bit of water in it, blue ones along the back of a blue couch. Heehee)

The stones can then be traded in for eggs, or kept as lucky stones. Another thing to do is hide pieces of a jigsaw puzzle (a small one!) and let the kids build it to find, when it is flipped over, a message as to where a basket of goodies are to be found (at Grandmas is a good place, to avoid being discovered in the 'search')

Or notes with clues about where a prize, and the next clue, are hidden can lead on a trail all around the house i.e. I am where the big growler beast sleeps (the doghouse).

Or paper cut out eggs with letters drawn on them can be hidden. Kids are given a list with some Easter words (so they can check the spelling) like Spring, Easter, Bilby, Bunny, etc and they have to find the letters to make up their word.

Prizes to be given include, hot cross buns, chocolate eggs, stuffed toy animals, bouquets of daffodils/lilies, cards, books with Easter stories. (Tapes, CD's and videos too.)

Lucky Dip Duckies!

Put plastic ducks in a trough of water (bath tub, kiddies wading pool, etc) and the children pull out a duck with a magnet or a loop on a stick (glue a magnet or hook on to the ducks to make this possible!) and get the prize associated with that duck. You put numbers or shapes on the bottom of the ducks to correspond with a prize.

Duckling Waddle Races!

Players line up on a start line. At the signal, they must all bend over and grasp their ankles. The first one to waddle to the finish line without letting go of their ankles, wins.

Animal Match-up.

Divide the kids into two groups. Each child in one group is given the name of an animal, the other group is also given the same animals so they match up. No one is allowed to tell another which animal they are. At the signal each child makes the noise of the animal that they have been given. The first pair to find each other are the winners. Then everyone gets a prize as they match up.
