Fire Frog's Beady Patterns:

Mouse.

Mouse pattern1.

You start at the nose, at the center of your threading *wire/ribbon. You can start by making a larks head knot and attaching it to a key ring. Thread one bead, then another two, which you pass both ends of wire/ribbon through. In different directions.

Do the bead weaving as before until it is time to make the ears. Thread 10 beads onto one of the sides (A Side). Do 2 gray, 1 black, 4 gray, 1 black, 2 gray. Next weave the other side (B Side) through the last gray bead put on to the A Side thread. Then through the 2 middle of the 4 gray ones. Lastly thread it threw the first bead that had been put on to A Side. Pull taunt. Continue to weave as before. The ears won't stand up well if done using ribbon, and may have to be stiffened using sugar water or starch.

Then you end at the tail, tying off the ribbon on a key ring if you want to, or just as a knot. Seal with glue or nail polish, so it won't come undone. With wire, you wind it round itself, or around the key ring.

*Getting the length of wire/ribbon right is quite hard. Try to have a third more than you think you will need. Trust me, too much left over is much better than running out before the end.

PS, I always wondered why people so rarely put actual lengths on these projects, now I know. Its because length depends on string type and bead type/size. The way I work it out is to roughly lay the thread out as if weaving it on the table, add a third more and pray you have it right!

Happy beading.
