Painting On Stone.
This was painted by my Auntie Lyn. Hints etc to follow.
Quickly, for now: She used sandstone for these (because she likes the colour I think.) She also uses Talk stone to paint Egyptian pictures on, so it looks like a piece of a tomb wall has fallen off, and you've picked it up. The paint is ordinary 'Folk' paint, available at craft stores.
When painting cute critters on rounded pebbles to use as paper weights, be sure to seal the picture with decoupage sealer/varnish etc. It gives the piece a nice shine and protects the paint work as well.
