Day twelve

Some began the morning with a brisk swim in the sea. I stood guard against shark attack using magic to repel any advances, and others stayed lookout further along the beach.

The oceans frantic motion has engendered me with a certain longing, for which the feel of the wooden staff does no good in my hand.

I sit on shark patrol, and think of Peter. As you can see, I have built a rather large...sandcastle.

Toby is sleeping rather a lot, I hope this is a natural pattern for him and not a sign that he is lacking in any vitamins. I have been working on this repel spell all morning and think it will come in handy for keeping him away from sensitive areas like the lab and have hopes that it can be used to keep Slimer away from the refrigerator, although that is probably asking to much.

A handy shell to hide certain...developments brought on from my earlier ponderings.

Shell collecting, yes, of course that is what I am doing! Ah. Yes.

We gathered a few more shells, and I sit and think of Peter.

Visited the end of the White Pearlers experiment. The Pearlers of the area were all Asian and the pearling companies wanted to bring in Europeans to do the work. The six people chosen died fairly shortly there after from the Bends and other related illnesses. Deep diving is a skill you work at over time, not something you determine to do overnight.

Here is where the failed divers were buried. The island also held a free standing formation created by erosion of wind and tide that I found fascinating, the pictures of which have yet to be developed.

I needed space to deal with my, ah, problem. It is remarkably hard to handle such things, confined as we mostly are to the boat.

Lady Christine seen from the shore. I climbed the cliff to enjoy the view and, er, the solitude.

The next island held the ruins of a complex Hippie Commune. The original inhabitants had been dragged away for draft service, what was left of their home was lovely. It took some effort to get there, but a walk through eightfoot long grasses following a fresh water stream with tiny pool and dips into jungle like country was quite exciting.

Once more went crabbing, and this time a full haul of crabs was made. These were cooked and eaten with lemon pepper sauce and much smacking of lips. The journey through Hells Gates became rough and Nanny unexpectedly got to her feet to fetch something and fell. Her family thought she was going to fly over the rails, but she landed on the deck, with a massive bruise on her buttock, which she made sure everybody had a feel of. Her daughters were adamant she only did this for lecherous reasons, they hovered close to her however and took her in to hospital to be checked over as soon as we made port, which we did later that day.

On my travels today I have seen - Whales, dolphins, white headed petrels, black winged stilts, Pacificguls, Silverguls, Sea Eagle, Osprey, many sea birds.
