BYRON

Byron was my first owned Rottweiler, Byron had no papers. So I decide to take them to Obedience, he was very clever & love to learn.
All I new about Byron's bloodline is that his Mother was Vic breed and have papers. I try unsuccessfully to track down his breeder because they had left town. I would have like to know his Bloodline, as his nature was one in a million. His father I didn't know much about, like his mother he had papers, but what bloodline I was not to know. Byron was a Rottweiler any child could do anything to him, he wouldn't move, he just lay there, until they had finish with him, then he would move. This I have not seen before in a Rottweiler, all I had seen of Rottweilers were, guard dogs. When I bought him he was already 7 months old, the age he would and should have be in everything. When I had my children each time I came home from hospital, he greeted me, he new there was something new in our lives. I would get out of the car, walk over to him, knelt down to him and showed him the baby, he would take a good look a sniff and then he would gave me a big lick and then ran around the back yard to show off. This is what he would do to make children laugh; he would always entertained the boys over the back fence.
Before my second baby I bought a female Rottweiler, she kept Byron on the go, she was a little terror bitting his ear, jumping all over him, never once did he hurt her, he was so gentle I never breed them although they were together all the time. Once the boys were older enough I took them back to training; with one child in a back carer I trained both dogs each Sunday. Some years later, I found out Shauni was sick, Byron seem to know already he would make me keep away from her when she had a fit. Not long after that he seem to go off colour, he couldn't bend his neck to his bowel and had a hard time getting out of bed, I thought it was because he tried to breed with Shauni, so I left him go for a week, not knowing it was more than strained muscles. We went for a run the day before I took him to the vet, he ran with out a care in the world, but the next day he was bad, he cried when he got up. I new there was a big problem, in the waiting he seemed to know what he was there for he just look out the window, still not looking like much was wrong. The vet took one look at him and said I don't like the look of this, and then schedule an ultra scan I went home and waited, then the call I didn't wont to hear, he had Cancer..... My heart stopped Byron my big boy... I asked if they could help him, the vet said maybe if it's just in the spleen we can remove it. So I said see what u can do.
Not long after that, I got the phone call (the vet) he was covered with Cancer there wasn't a thing I could do to help! Then the hardest decision I ever had to do.
Let him sleep with out pain.
